Okay y'all. I've gotten a few questions lately about what our days look like, so I figured I'd just do a basic run-down here for you guys! It's always so interesting to me to see what other people do during the week.. AM I THE ONLY ONE?? Does that make me nosy?? HAHA.
PS After writing this all out, I realized I should probably start doing more intentional learning activities with Silas, now that he's 2. Maybe set aside some time in the mornings when he doesn't have school to play with play dough, learn colors, paint, etc. I really should. REALLY SHOULD.. key words. Haha! Would love any ideas for this if you have them!
Anyways, here's a general idea of what happens during our week:
7:30am - Everyone wakes up, I feed V while Silas drinks milk and plays
8:30am - Verity goes down for her first nap, Silas eats breakfast and watches a show while I get ready. He also plays outside a ton in the morn - I just leave the backdoor open so I can hear/see him through that and our giant windows on the back of the house.
9:30-10am - Silas goes down for his first nap (yes, he still naps twice a day at almost 2.5)
10:30am - V wakes up, I feed her. We hang out - which at this point is me blogging, watching tv, talking to her, etc.
11:30am - Verity goes down for her 2nd nap. Silas wakes up.
12pm - We eat lunch, sometimes go run errands (which means V naps in her carseat for her 11:30 nap instead of her bed). We have playdates, go to Target, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, STARBUCKS (always) wherever we need to go. Sometimes we have actual errands and sometimes we just need to get out of the house. I try to get out at least once a day - if we go out in the morn, we usually stay home in the afternoon or vice versa.
1:30pm - V wakes up, I feed her. Sometimes we're still out and about when 1:30 rolls around, so we do lots of parking lot nursing sessions.
2:30pm - Silas goes down for his 2nd nap and V goes down for her 3rd nap. I usually use this time to clean, hang out, blog, eat a snack, binge watch a show, lay on the couch, DO NOTHING.
4:30pm - Silas and V both wake up. I feed Verity while Silas plays.
5:30pm - Verity goes down for her final nap. I start dinner.
6:30pm - V wakes up, I feed her. We eat dinner and play high/low (everyone goes around and tells one high and one low from their day).
7:00pm - We start winding down, reading books, sometimes watch a show, bath time (ya know.. when it happens #momfail)
7:30pm - PJ's and Silas gets a 8oz bottle of whole milk (yeah, yeah, he still has a bottle at night and in the morn. JUDGE ME. Hahaha. He takes a sippy during the day but the bottle is the only way he'll drink enough to stay full all night - the kid has a crazy fast metabolism. Soo.. #bottlesforlife). As soon as he's done, we say prayers and put him in his crib and he goes to sleep within 5 minutes. While Matt gets Silas ready for bed, I change Verity and start feeding her (this is the only feeding where we feed to sleep). She nurses for about 15 min and then goes down in her crib and falls asleep immediately. Both kiddos sleep through till 7:30 the next morning.
7:30am - Everyone wakes up, I feed V while Silas plays
8:00am - Silas eats breakfast and watches a show, Verity is in her bouncer. I make Silas' lunch for school and breakfast for myself and get ready.
8:30am - I get Silas and Verity ready, put V in her carseat for her nap
8:45am - Leave our house to take Silas to school (9-2pm play school)
9:00am - Drop Silas at school and then V and I usually go run errands or meet friends for coffee or shopping.
10:30am - Verity wakes up and I feed her - again, usually in a parking lot
11:30am - Verity goes down for her 2nd nap, we're generally home around this time.
12pm - I eat lunch, take a nap, blog, clean, binge watch a show
1:30pm - Verity wakes and I feed her.
1:45pm - We leave to go pick Silas up
2:00pm - Get Silas from school, we generally either go home to let him nap again if he's still tired (school days are a little harder because he only naps 12-1:45 in class. He's usually pretty exhausted), or we go meet a friend at their house or Barnes and Noble to play with trains and read books.
2:30pm - Verity goes down for her 3rd nap
4:30pm - V wakes up and I feed her. We're usually home around then.
5:30pm - Verity goes down for her final nap. I start dinner.
6:30pm - V wakes up, I feed her. We eat dinner and play high/low.
Sidenote: on Tuesdays, we go to community group at this time and get home around 9pm. It's rough on the kids but we're committed to growing in our faith!)
7:00pm - We start winding down, reading books, sometimes watching a show, bath time, etc.
7:30pm - PJ's, milk, prayers and bedtime for Silas. I feed V and put her down. Both kiddos sleep through till 7:30 the next morning.
Weekends really depend on what we have going on, but we stick to generally the same schedule in terms of wakeup/naps/bedtime. Sundays are tough because of church at 11am - both of the kids' naps are a little wonky that day.
Major cleaning usually happens on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the kitchen is cleaned every night (because I literally can't sleep if I have a messy kitchen) and the livingroom/kids' rooms are picked up every evening. Here's what that kinda looks like:
Mondays are laundry day. All laundry. All on one day - I like to just get it over with and this way it feels like there's actually an END to the laundry.
Tuesdays, I vacuum the carpets and rugs AND the wood floors. Our floors get so messy, especially because we have a rug that sheds so much still (major side eye). Honestly, this was my least favorite "chore" simply because of how long it took. But a couple weeks ago, Dyson sent me their new V8 cordless vacuum and it was a HUGE game changer! It came with multiple attachments and the heads all switch out super easily, so I can go back and forth between the carpets/rugs and the wood (we have a pretty equal amount throughout the house). Easy to clean, easy to empty, I'm a big fan, y'all!
Fridays, I try to do something like clean out the car (HOW DOES SO MUCH CRAP ACCUMULATE IN LESS THAN A WEEK?!), vacuum the car (I also use the Dyson for this!! Especially since I can attach a few of the heads directly to the canister - so much easier to use in small spaces. Cut my vacuuming time in half), declutter the kitchen table (which also accumulates enormous amounts of crap), etc.
My bathrooms get cleaned like.. every 2 weeks. Maybe. Okay, let's be honest. They get cleaned when we have guests. HAHA. Bathrooms are my WORST. I hate them. If I could hire someone to just clean my bathrooms.. that would be a dream come true. So they get done when they get done.
Clutter and messes stress me out, so our house is decently clean most of the time simply because of that. But yeah, Mondays and Tuesdays are my major days for other stuffs.
Anyways, this turned out to be a lot longer than I thought it would be haha, so I'll wrap it up here! But I'd love to hear from you - are you a schedule person? If so, what do your days/weeks look like?
