These carseats were given to us, courtesy of Graco, for review; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Y'all. I am SO excited to share this post with you guys! You know that I only partner with brands I really love and can stand behind -- and Graco tops the list as one of those brands.
A little backstory: Silas has had the original Graco 4Ever since he switched from an infant seat to a convertible seat in 2015 -- so, for over 2 years now! It has held up incredibly well but of course, after 2 years, there was some definite wear and tear (WHO LET THIS KID EAT AND DRINK BACK THERE?! Oh wait, I did)/a missing cupholder (gee, wonder who tore that off??), etc.
Fast forward to now. Verity is almost 15 months and FINALLY outgrowing her infant seat (we switched Silas at 10 months), so I reached out to Graco and was delighted when they said they would love to send us matching seats for the kiddos! If you know me in real life (and online, I guess), you know that I am mildly obsessed with having things that are cohesive and pretty HAHA. So Silas and Verity having matching carseats is kindaaaa like a dream come true for me ;)
We decided to go with the 4Ever 4-in-1 seats (featuring their TrueShield Technology) in the color "Ion" -- and I think it's safe to say, I LOVEEEEE THEM. Seriously, easiest install EVER. Both Silas and Verity are rear-facing, so we just use the latch system that clips onto the car's anchors in the back of the seat -- it's quick, it's EASY and I'm 100% confident that they're safe.
SIDE NOTE: Rear-facing is a HUGE deal to us -- actually, extended rear-facing, I should say! Silas turned 3 in December and is still RF -- and he will be until he hits the seat limits (40lbs - he's currently 29lbs) or 4 years old. You can message me if you want more info (happy to send all the articles and links that I have!), but basically, it boils down to this: rear-facing is safer, y'all. I'm taking, WAY safer. You can check with your own state, but the law in most places is 2 years -- kids must be rear-facing until they are 2 years old. However, most experts will agree that the safest age to turn them around is actually closer to 4. That's actually one of the main reasons we LOVE the Graco 4Ever 4-in-1 -- because it allows kids to rear-face so much longer than they would normally be able to! I'm so grateful for companies that strive to bring the best and safest products to the market for my (and your) babies.
I know that there are some exceptions and that some people literally can't do extended rear-facing (due to height/weight requirements), but for everyone else... PLEASE, I am begging you -- do the research. Don't allow convenience or peer-pressure to be the highest goal or main influence in your decision. I am just so passionate about carseat safety because it's such a simple way to keep our kids safe.
Alright, alright.. stepping down off my soapbox now to finish the review of these seats haha! But please feel free to message me if you have any questions about rear-facing! Moreee than happy to continue the conversation ;)
BACK TO THE 4EVERS!!
Some of our favorite features:
- it's a 4-in-1 seat that grows with our kids (rear-facing, forward-facing, high-back booster and backless booster -- and can be used from 4lbs-120lbs!)
- it has 6 recline positions (AND they're color-coded).
- you can raise the height of the harness by just lifting it up - NO having to re-thread the straps (which pretty much jeopardized our marriage with the last seat we had).
- the bubble level indicator! This is a HUGE help in making sure the seats are installed correctly.
- how easily the cover comes off! Which makes washing off the crumbs, old milk and everything else they spill back there so much easier #praisehands
- on a totally vain level, they're GORGEOUS seats! My minivan already ups my cool factor but these seats send it over the top. Seriously. I've never had anyone compliment me on my carseats until now #illtakeit
Like I said, they were a breeze to install and I am just loving all of the features. Silas especially loves the two cupholders because it means that he can bring both his water AND his snack on our rides (I swore I wouldn't let them eat back there again.. BUT HERE WE ARE). I love that both kids can see each other, even rear-facing -- hearing them laugh and try to hold hands is the BEST. I'm also so excited for the day that we DO turn Silas forward-facing, knowing he's still going to be safe and protected.
And let's be honest, we're frugal people. I LOVEEE that I can buy one seat and use it for 10 years and that it grows with my kids and will keep them secured literally every day of their lives.
If you have any other questions regarding the 4Evers', shoot me a message on Instagram, comment here or email me! Happy Monday, friends!
